Sidama has produced the winning lots for all three Cup of Excellence (COE) Ethiopia competitions held so far, making it one of the most renowned regions for high-quality specialty coffee production, attracting attention from around the world. Silinga is a new project started this season by Niguse Gemeda, where he oversees coffee production at this DS. Only the fully ripened cherries, carefully selected from nearby smallholder farmers, are accepted for processing.
