El Pital - Colombia
Tasting Notes
Description
This lot was grown on Aleja and Fernando Garcia’s farm in El Pital, Colombia. Fernando moved from the department of Caquetá to Huila in 2004, fleeing the armed conflict in his home region. He resettled in El Pital, Huila, where he began farming and rediscovered his passion for coffee. In recent years, Fernando transiti Tabi is a unique coffee variety developed in Colombia in 2002. It is a thoughtful cross between three coffee varieties: Typica, Bourbon and Timor Hybrid. It is the result of research to create a coffee leaf rust-resistant variety that maintains high cup quality potential, making it a sustainable choice for coffee farmers. This washed tabi showcases a fruit-forward character, opening up with refreshing notes of blackberry before revealing a nostalgic pear-drop sweetness. A velvety, butterscotch-smooth body carries the finish. **Producer:** Aleja & Fernando Garcia **Origin:** Huila, Colombia **Altitude:** 1850 masl **Varietal:** Tabi **Processing:** Washed **Brew:** V60 / Filter
