Mexico – Galguera Gómez Lot 21
Description
Discovered amongst over 40 other coffees at a London cupping event, one of our production roasters tasted this offering from Oaxaca, Mexico, and enjoyed it so much that we immediately endeavoured to add it to our roster. Not only did we find an excellent coffee but two other attendees followed suit, to join the ranks at Alchemy. After a perilous odyssey via the Panama Canal Lot 21 made it to the roastery, where it was reunited with delighted staff new and old; Some things are meant to be. With a strong desire to preserve and express the heritage of the land, the imported bags feature an image of the Tiliche – representative of the indigenous roots of the working class, the Tiliche don outfits of worn and discarded objects and, through humour, music and dance, embody a creative defiance and deep connection to local identity. This local representation, along with long-standing direct trade relationships with the farms and a proven commitment to supporting biodiversity and reforestation from three-generation producer Galguera Gómez made Lot 21 a must for Alchemys 2026 offering. Utilising an extended process of fermentation with lactic acid bacteria from red wine, Lot 21 gives a full bodied cup with an emphasis on Amaretto *Although we make every attempt to have seasonal coffee available to order, occasionally some products are not available to ship immediately because we are in the process of hand-roasting them.* The roastery dispatches web orders via Royal Mail. All orders of a single 250g bag will be posted Second Class, and orders with multiple bags will be posted First Class.
