Kenya - Thunguri, SL28&SL34&Ruiru11&Batian
Tasting Notes
Description
The new harvest Thunguri is our first source for natural coffee from Kenya. This processing station serves over 1,000 small farmers in nearby villages. Coffee Management Services (CMS) is also working to boost productivity and improve coffee quality through training and educational programs. The main coffee varieties grown here are SL28 and SL34, which make up more than 80% of the crop. Additionally, with support from the Kenya Research Center, they are experimenting with Ruiru11 and Batian varieties. The rich volcanic soil and special microclimate in this area lead to coffee beans that are full-bodied, have a low defect rate, and high sugar content. These qualities provide a strong foundation for producing excellent sun-dried coffee beans.
