From a nano-lot of barely one hectare, located at an altitude of 2050 meters in the heart of the Cañas Verdes farm, this rare coffee is hand-picked from eight-year-old trees, at the peak of their aromatic potential. After meticulous picking, the cherries are pulped and then fermented for 72 hours in a low-temperature room, in order to preserve all the finesse of their sensory profile. Thanks to high altitudes, unique microclimates and meticulous know-how, La Esmeralda produces lots of unparalleled purity and aromatic complexity. This is where modern Geisha was born, a legendary coffee, cultivated with precision and passion. More precisely, in 2004, Hacienda La Esmeralda presented a 100% Geisha coffee for the first time in the Best of Panama competition. This batch, from high altitudes, dazzled the judges with its floral aromas and liveliness, very similar to the profiles of Ethiopian coffees. The farm won the Best of Panama 2004 title, setting an auction price record. The success did not stop there.
