Description
Guatemala, Antigua Valley Varietal: Caturra, VIlla Sarchi Process: Washed Altitude: 1,545 masl Apricot, Red Apple, Dates Finca Filadelfia, a historic coffee estate in Antigua Valley, has been a cornerstone of Guatemala’s specialty coffee since its founding in 1864, when Manuel Matheu transformed it from a cochineal farm and helped spread coffee cultivation throughout the region. Now managed by the 5th and 6th generations of the Dalton family, the farm’s 214.64 hectares produce high quality coffees that consistently score above 87 points. Despite urban pressures, the family has preserved the estate’s heritage while investing in sustainability, on-site roasting, and meticulous crop management. Their commitment to quality and community reflects a broader social impact, sustaining local employment, preserving agricultural traditions, and keeping Antigua’s coffee legacy alive for future generations.
