Honduras El Puente SL28 Washed
Description
Since Don Felipe García first began coffee farming in 1907, El Puente Farm has grown into what can be confidently introduced as one of Honduras’s most outstanding coffee producers. Today, the farm is led by fourth-generation farmers Marysabel Caballero and Moisés Herrera, who continue to represent the very best of Honduran coffee. They cultivate more than 50 farms across four regions, growing 56 different coffee varieties, and continuously conduct research to create coffees with greater aromatic complexity. In particular, they practice environmentally friendly agriculture by improving soil health with organic fertilizers made from coffee cherry pulp and cow and chicken manure, minimizing the use of pesticides, and preventing pests and diseases through shade-grown cultivation. The El Puente coffee we are introducing this time is the SL28 variety, processed using a traditional washed method. This allows El Puente’s terroir and the distinctive character of SL28 to be expressed with remarkable clarity and transparency. Through its soft hibiscus notes and the well-balanced, refreshing acidity of lemon tea, we hope you can fully experience the dedication and craftsmanship of Marysabel Caballero and Moisés Herrera. Aery appreciates the diverse flavors that coffee can express. To allow those flavors to feel clean and vibrant, we roast our coffees lightly, focusing on clarity rather than intensity. Since coffee needs time to reach its optimal brewing state, we recommend brewing about 10 days after the roast date for the best experience. For brewing, we use a ratio of 1:17–18 (coffee to water) to achieve a cup that feels balanced and expressive without being too strong. We encourage you to adjust this according to your own taste and preference.
